How to get to the Sabeti Lodge

Rout 1

For adventure and Eco-tourism

  1. 1. Ruta 1: Para Ecoturistas aventureros
  • Lima – Cusco by plane (1 hour and 15 minutes)
  • Cusco (local tourism, in most of the cases these packages include a visit to the National Sanctuary Machu Picchu and into the Sacred Valley of the Incas, it depends on the visitor)
  • Cusco – Quillabamba by car (6 hours) or by bus (8 hours).
  • Quillabamba. Visit to “Siete Tinajas” tourist attraction.
  • Quillabamba – Ivochote by car (6 hours) or by bus (7-8 hours).
  • Ivochote. Rest.
  • Departure from Ivochote port to the Sabety Lodge (by boat) (3 hours and a half). The journey includes:
    • Stop by “Piedra Pintada” or Petroglyph of Pangoa (only in dry season)
    • Crossing of the Pongo de Maenique, in Urubamba river.
  • Arrival to the Sabeti Lodge.
  • Start of the activities depending on the tourist package.
  • The same trip would be done for return. Trip time from the Sabeti lodge to Ivochote port is about 4 – 5 hours.

Rout 2

For tourists coming directly from Lima

  1. 2. Ruta 2: Para turistas directo desde Lima
  • Lima – Malvinas by plane (1 hour and 30 minutes).
  • Landing at Malvinas airport.
  • Malvinas – Sabeti Lodge by boat (2 horas)
  • Arrival to the Sabeti Lodge and beginning of activities depending on the tourist package.
  • The same trip World be done for return (Sabeti – Malvinas – Lima)

Rout 3

For tourists with activities in Cusco

  1. 3. Ruta 3: Para turistas con actividades en Cusco
  • Lima – Cusco (By plane or bus, depending on the tourist. Some would like to start journey from Cusco)
  • Cusco (Tourists may do his/her programed activities)
  • Cusco – Malvinas by plane (Light aircraft)
  • Arrival to Malvinas and deparure to Sabeti Lodge (2 hours).
  • Arrival to Sabeti Lodge and beginning of the activities depending on the tourist package.

Rout 4

For tourists with more available time

  1. 4. Ruta 4: Para turistas con más tiempo disponible
  • Lima – Satipo (Road: “Carretera central”, Through Ticlio. This journey can be done by bus or using private transportation)
  • Satipo – Malvinas by plane.
  • Malvinas – Sabeti Lodge by boat (2 hours)
  • Arrival to the Sabeti Lodge and beginning of activities depending on the tourist package.
  • Sabeti Lodge – Kiteni (by boat)
  • Kiteni – Quillabamba (by bus or car)
  • Quillabamba – Cusco (by bus or car)
  • Cusco – Lima by plane (1 hour and 15 minutes)
